Anyone that has ever had a panic attack knows how scary they can be. I know the first time I experienced a an anxiety attack I thought I was dying. I ended up in the ER and almost hyperventilated myself to the point of passing out.
From then on it seemed like everytime there was extreme stress in my life those darn attacks would resurface. I had to learn how to deal with a panic attack situation when they came along.
Part of dealing with panic attacks is knowing that the panic attack its self can’t harm you. What the body is experiencing is just due to flight/fight response reaction. When the flight/fight response system is activated that’s when the anxiety is triggered and brings on the problems of panic.
This in my opinion is a very important part of dealing with panic and anxiety attacks, because once you reliaze that what your exeriencing is not going to harm you, you can start to learn how to cope. Its’ the fear that lets the anxiety spiral out of control.
Instead of fearing the next panic episode, stop and take a look at why your feeling those anxious thoughts. Come to terms with those thoughts, then let them go. By changing your reaction to the fear you can start taking back control of your life.
