Dealing with panic attacks requires an acceptance of your heart rate and breathing rapidly. Learning to stay away from any occurrences that will trigger a panic attack is an effective way to control the palpations and sweating. At first glance, you may not understand what is happening and why. It takes time to realize the factors involved in a panic attack and know why it happened. It could be the surroundings, a smell, a sound or just about anything. Being aware of why it happened it the first step towards helping your body’s emotions to relieve the anxiety.

Meditation with simple breathing methods will lower the heart palpitations. Even though a person initially has a strange response to something there are relaxation techniques to rest and calm the body. Learning certain statements such as “this will pass” and repeating it over and over will calm the body down. Being distracted from what ever it was that triggered the panic attack is another good way to relax the body and helps in dealing with panic attacks. Breathing into a paper bag during an anxiety attach you heart rate will decrease. If you are home when an anxiety attack happens, taking a hot shower will instantly help calm the body down feeling the water splashing on you removing the awful feeling.
